Applications:
2010 Buick LaCrosse, Cadillac SRX, Chevrolet Equinox
The Hitachi SIDI system used on 2010 LF1 3.6L V6 and LAF 2.0L ECOTEC uses clips and plates to retain each injector to the fuel rail prior to installation in the cylinder head. Due to the extremely high pressures used in the SIDI system, installing these clips and plates correctly is critical to ensuring leak-free operation. Each clip must be installed square and straight onto the rail/injector assembly, with the least spread possible. Over-spreading due to mis-installation may lead to clip failure. Once the rail, injector and clip are assembled by hand, the rail/injector assembly may be placed into a vice for stability. The clip is placed into the magnetic base of EN-49247, and EN-49274 is placed around the rail over the injector. The handles on EN-49247 are closed to seat the injector clip. Once the clip is installed, the balance of injectors can be installed in the same way.
