Important Notes:
- 125 - 130 psi is the recommended air input for the 70701 CUSTOM FILL MACHINE to work properly.
- Some paint systems may require reducing prior to filling into CUSTOM FILL blanks.
- Use 61993 to fill solvent basecoat, urethane & enamel single stage paints, and lacquers.
- Use 62003 to fill automotive waterborne basecoat and other waterborne coatings only. Do not fill waterborne paint into 61993 or solvent paint into 62003.
- Once 62003 is filled, the shelf life for proper application is 3-6 weeks. Use within that time period or dispose of according to your local laws & regulations.
Filling:
- Remove cap and tip from aerosol blank and separate the disc from the top of the cap.
- Place disk into the machine, covering the piston. Run your finger around the edge to ensure proper alignment on the piston. The machine will not work until the disc is in place.
- Place cap into fill cylinder and lock in by twisting the cap. Ensure the cap is seated properly by pressing in the center of the cap.
- Attach the fill cylinder and cap to the aerosol blank.
- Pour paint into the cap. Do not fill past indicator line. Maximum fill is 90g.
- Insert can/cylinder unit into the machine by lining up the fill cylinder with the slots in the machine.
- Spin the pedestal counter-clockwise raising it up until it lightly touches the can. The pedestal should not be raised tight to the can.
- Close the safety door on the machine to start the filling process. The fill will complete in 10-15 seconds.
- Remove the can/cylinder assembly from the machine and separate the cylinder from the can. Remove the cap, which now holds a small amount of paint, by pressing the fill cylinder tabs, onto the work surface.
- Gently twist the spray tip onto the can.
- Shake for 1 minute and spray.
Mixing:
Shake well, to ensure color uniformity and to prevent clogging. When first pressed, a small amount of paint will stream from the tip. This is normal when custom filling aerosols. For best results, use only when can temperature is approximately 70° (21°).
Storage:
61993 & 62003 should be stored in a cool dry place with adequate ventilation away from heat, sparks and flames. The shelf life for 61993 & 62003 is 3 years when stored under normal conditions. Once filled with waterborne basecoat, the shelf life of 62003 is approximately 30 days.
