About Stretch BeltsStretch belts work on drive systems that do not require a tensioner. The belts appear to be the same as a standard V-ribbed belts, however they are not interchangeable. Stretch belts are shorter than the actual working length and will automatically tension upon installation. In some instances, stretch belts can be installed with a 3mm nylon tie, but other instances, installation requires the use of a tool (KTI-70730).
This tool eliminates potential twisting and damage to stretch belts. Never use a screwdriver or other tool to install stretch belts because they will likely damage the belt and/or engine components. Each stretch belt includes specific instructions for installation.
