Curing Lamps

Curing lamps are used to cure UV-sensitive adhesives, sealants, and coatings. They are typically used in the automotive industry to cure clear coat finishes, but they can also be used in a variety of other applications, such as bonding plastics, repairing damaged fiberglass, and applying decals.

There are two main types of curing lamps: UV fluorescent lamps and UV LED lamps. UV fluorescent lamps produce a broad spectrum of UV light, while UV LED lamps produce a narrow band of UV light. The type of curing lamp that is best for a particular application depends on the specific UV-sensitive material that is being cured.

UV fluorescent lamps are typically less expensive than UV LED lamps, but they also produce more heat. This can be a problem if the material being cured is sensitive to heat. UV LED lamps are more expensive than UV fluorescent lamps, but they produce less heat and are more energy efficient.

The following is a list of the different types of curing lamps:

  • UV fluorescent lamps
  • UV LED lamps
  • High-intensity discharge (HID) lamps
  • Microwave curing lamps
  • Electron beam curing lamps

Choosing the Right Curing Lamp

The following factors should be considered when choosing a curing lamp:

  • The type of UV-sensitive material that is being cured
  • The size of the area that needs to be cured
  • The desired curing speed
  • The budget

By considering these factors, you can choose the right curing lamp for your specific application.
