- To address advanced capabilities provided by this application, the MPC uses PCMCIA cards.
- The card is plugged into the back of the unit, and provides additional functions.

Power Line Carrier (PLC) Test Application For Trailer ABS
- Effective March 2001, a Federal Government mandate required that heavy-duty trucks have an in-cab trailer ABS warning lamp.
- Using a new SAE standard called PLC communication, the change requires trailer ABS ECU's to communicate with the tractor ECU via the J560 power line to activate the warning lamp.
- NEXIQ's PLC Converter (sold separately) is also required for PLC communication.
- The PLC test application is easy to use and provides the ability to:
- Test tractor and trailer coupled or trailer independently for MID messages.
- Requires NEXIQ PLC Converter Kit (MPS601020).
- Toggle in-cab trailer ABS warning lamp ON/OFF to confirm operation.
- Verify trailer ABS ECU for MID 10 and MID 11 messages.
