Leads and Probes

Leads and probes are essential tools for automotive mechanics, as they allow them to connect to and test the electrical systems of vehicles. There are a variety of different types of leads and probes available, each designed for a specific purpose.

Test leads are used to connect to the terminals of a battery or other electrical component. They typically have a metal probe on one end and a connector on the other end. Test leads can be either insulated or uninsulated. Insulated test leads are safer to use, as they prevent the user from coming into contact with live electrical wires.

Probes are used to test the voltage, current, or resistance of an electrical circuit. They typically have a metal probe on one end and a handle on the other end. Probes can be either analog or digital. Analog probes have a needle that moves along a scale to indicate the voltage, current, or resistance of the circuit. Digital probes display the voltage, current, or resistance of the circuit on a digital display.

Leads and probes are an essential part of any automotive mechanic's toolkit. By using the right leads and probes, mechanics can quickly and easily diagnose electrical problems in vehicles.
