Transfer Pumps

Transfer pumps are used to move fluids from one container to another. They are typically used in automotive applications to transfer fluids such as oil, coolant, and brake fluid. Transfer pumps can be either manual or electric. Manual transfer pumps are operated by hand, while electric transfer pumps are powered by an electric motor.

Types of Transfer Pumps

There are two main types of transfer pumps: positive displacement pumps and centrifugal pumps. Positive displacement pumps move fluid by trapping a fixed volume of fluid and then forcing it out of the pump. Centrifugal pumps move fluid by spinning a impeller, which creates a vortex that draws fluid into the pump and then forces it out the discharge port.

Applications of Transfer Pumps

Transfer pumps are used in a variety of automotive applications, including:

  • Oil changes
  • Coolant changes
  • Brake fluid changes
  • Power steering fluid changes
  • Transmission fluid changes
  • Windshield washer fluid changes

Benefits of Using Transfer Pumps

Using a transfer pump can help to make fluid changes easier and more efficient. Transfer pumps can also help to prevent spills and leaks.
