Helmet

Welding helmets are an essential piece of safety equipment for any welder. They protect the welder's eyes, face, and neck from the harmful rays of ultraviolet light emitted by the welding arc. Welding helmets also protect the welder from flying sparks and slag.

There are two main types of welding helmets: auto-darkening and fixed-shade. Auto-darkening helmets darken automatically when the welding arc is ignited, and they remain dark until the arc is extinguished. Fixed-shade helmets have a single shade of glass that does not change.

Auto-darkening helmets are more convenient than fixed-shade helmets because they do not require the welder to manually change the shade of glass. However, auto-darkening helmets are more expensive than fixed-shade helmets.

The type of welding helmet that is best for you will depend on your welding needs and budget. If you are a hobbyist welder who only welds occasionally, a fixed-shade helmet may be sufficient. However, if you are a professional welder who welds on a regular basis, an auto-darkening helmet is a better option.
