Wheel Alignment Tools

Wheel alignment tools are used to measure and adjust the angles of a vehicle's wheels so that they are properly aligned with each other and the road. This ensures that the vehicle tracks straight and that the tires wear evenly.

There are a variety of wheel alignment tools available, each designed for a specific purpose. Some of the most common types of wheel alignment tools include:

  • Caster gauges: Caster gauges are used to measure the caster angle of a vehicle's front wheels. Caster is the angle of the steering axis in relation to the vertical axis of the vehicle.
  • Camber gauges: Camber gauges are used to measure the camber angle of a vehicle's wheels. Camber is the angle of the wheel in relation to the vertical axis of the vehicle.
  • Toe-in gauges: Toe-in gauges are used to measure the toe-in angle of a vehicle's wheels. Toe-in is the difference in the distance between the front and rear of a vehicle's wheels.
  • Alignment racks: Alignment racks are used to hold a vehicle in place while the wheels are aligned. Alignment racks can be either static or dynamic. Static alignment racks hold the vehicle in place while the wheels are adjusted, while dynamic alignment racks move the vehicle's wheels while the measurements are taken.

In addition to these basic types of wheel alignment tools, there are also a number of specialized tools available for specific applications. For example, there are tools for aligning vehicles with independent rear suspensions, tools for aligning vehicles with four-wheel steering, and tools for aligning vehicles with wide tires.
